A silo plant with a capacity to store eight thousand tons of grain has just opened in Nhamatanda. The event was chaired by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi within the framework of a working visit to the region.
The silo plant is valued at three million dollars and is equipped with drying devices, fumigation and ventilation, besides the two silos and two warehouses for the storage of maize, beans, soy and sesame, whose beneficiaries are producers, farmers associations and agricultural companies.
The silos are part of the project to promote agricultural marketing, to facilitate the exchange between buyers and sellers. In his speech, the President encouraged the local population to increase agricultural production, considering that they already have this important infrastructure.
With the opening of this new silo plant the country has a storage capacity of 70 thousand tons spread over different regions.
