Tamboskaia Indeika, a turkey production company resulting from the alliance between Spanish group Fuertes and Russian group Cherkizovo, has expanded its facilities, which will increase production by 50%, to 85,000 tons per year.

The plant expansion involved an investment of 50 million euros, including three finishing sites and a nursery-site, as well as a slaughterhouse, feed mill, incubator and motor transport unit.

The company, located in the Pervomaiski district (Tambov Region, Russia), has a significant social impact in this region. The launch and construction of this second stage has led to the creation of 250 new jobs, which join the workforce of more than 1,400 workers the company already had.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Luth, and the head of the Administration of the Tambov Region, Alexander Nikitin, as well as the CEO of the Cherkizovo Group, Sergey Mikhailov.

In 2019 Tamboskaia Indeika became the second largest turkey producer in Russia. The first stage came into operation in 2015 and the first brand products were launched in 2017 including cold minced meat and a variety of ready-to-cook products with natural herbs and spices.

The feed mill came into operation in this first stage. It has a capacity of 180,000 tons per year,  including 10 flat bottom silos and 10 hopper silos with a total capacity of 90,000 tons, manufactured by Silos Córdoba. All of them are equipped with the latest technology, including pre-cleaning, drying and a filtration system.

The cereal is received directly from the harvest, cleaning and drying processes are performed within the facilities.

The reception output, as well as the cleaning machinery, is of 200 t/h. Meanwhile, the drying system is 42 t/h (based on wheat and corn products).

Tambovskaia Indeika aims, not only to be the largest company for meat production and processing in Europe, but to break all records on the use of the latest technologies.

The complex will be fully expanded in mid-2021.
