We have just started the assembly of the second storage plant in San Hilarión, in the rice-growing region of Peru.
Peru is one of the largest rice producers in Latin America, second only to Brazil. Rice is a staple food in Peru and in some regions is even more important than potato in the diet. The planting system used, the high solar irradiation and the low rainfall also influence the high yields of rice crops in the region.
Proper storage after the drying process influences the shelf life of rice because it enhances the preservation of physical qualities for consumption. The new rice storage plant will have a capacity of 500 tons and will be equipped with ventilation, thermometry and a sweeper.
