Gandaria participates in the trade mission to Angola organized by AGRAGEX within the Plan of Industry Activities of “ICEX Spain, Trade and Investment” for 2013. The mission will take place on November 26.

Angola, with a population of 20,200,000 inhabitants, has recently developed its relationships at all levels with countries like Portugal, China and Brazil, setting aside to Spain, country with whom Angola had a close relationship until 2002.

Today Angola has an economy that is in disarray because of a quarter century of nearly continuous warfare. Despite its abundant natural resources, its per capita income is among the lowest in the world. Subsistence agriculture provides the main livelihood for 85% of the population. Oil production is vital to the economy, contributing about 45% to GDP and 90% of exports, although the Angolan Government is committed to diversification.

Angola is a country of agricultural tradition which has some natural resources, hydrographic, climatic and soil conditions very favorable to the development of this activity. It has an estimated potential arable area of 35 million hectares and has a workforce accustomed to agricultural work.

Angola is a growing market and has many possibilities in agriculture and livestock.

Within the work plan of this trade mission is the visit to the fair AgroAngola, which will take place between November 28 and December 1, in addition to a work agenda to contact potential distributors, importers or end customers to offer our solutions for preserving and storing the grain, as required in an agricultural country with so much potential as Angola.

This fair, which replaces the old AGROTECH, is a benchmark in the African agricultural sector and this new stage begins with an ambitious bet, mainly focused on foreign investors.
