Gandaria was founded 40 years ago as a manufacturer of silos for livestock storage. Today, the company focuses on the design and construction of agro-industrial and livestock facilities, handling equipment, metal structures and cladding.
- Gandaria is an example of a family company committed to R + D + i. Why do they decide to make the leap?
Our bet on R & D as a differentiating element moves us toward high quality solutions. We want to avoid competing on price, but on excellence. We have much to do, we are on the way to achieving it.
We started to implement this strategy a year and a half ago and it is bearing positive results.
The company employs a hundred people and has offices in Argentina and Kazakhstan, with subsidiaries in Romania and Turkey. It also has a network of distributors in 17 countries to serve more than 45 markets.
- What kind of projects are you carrying out from your department?
We are redefining our product portfolio, but of course, little by little. Now, we make a deeper analysis and design, thinking and applying more technological, reliable and durable solutions. Our projects are not so tied to specific requests, but to what we want to be in the future.
- The company has announced a major investment in Córdoba, in Rabanales 21 and El Carpio. What is this operation about?
These processes are pretty ambitious for us. We are now beginning the construction of new facilites, both manufacturing and office, at Technology Park Rabanales 21. We have started this month. We have to move to the new building within a year from now. We will expand our production capacity thinking ahead and betting on growth.
Being located at Technology Park Rabanales 21 is a boost in our way to excellence. The change and transformation we need in the near future is very strong. A transformation that cannot be achieved by doing things the same way. The project in El Carpio will be done in a second stage, and it is more closely linked to machinery and logistics.
- Are there new markets where you would like to position?
We are strongly present in over 30 countries, and not so strongly in over 40. Global consumption of cereal multiplies year after year, according to the population increase. We have many markets to develop. Asia and Africa, although we are already present, are the key in the near future and, therefore, very important to us.
- Which objectives are set for the coming years?
Working hard to take the company to the next level of excellence. We’d like to consolidate our position in Europe and worldwide. On a personal level, I want to develop a range of products in Andalucía with a standard of highest quality. We are consolidating a team of people who will be able to do it, no doubt about it.
