The construction of the additional storage capacity of Arrozúa Cooperative plant in Isla Mayor (Seville, Spain) has been completed in September 2015. The Andalusian cooperative specializes in storage, drying, processing, distribution and marketing of paddy and white rice.
The expansion will allow the storage of 12,000 tons of paddy rice, which will add to the existing 130,000 tons of storage capacity.
It is worth to mention the large structure that supports the chain conveyors for grain distribution into the different silo lines. The structure consists of four towers of silos header and a long span and high rise catwalk made of laminated profiles.
The additional storage capacity includes:
- 6 silos model 14.51/16 with capacity for 2,000 tons of paddy rice each (3,247 m3).
- Handling equipment: new grain conveyors and bucket elevators developed by Gandaria Research & Innovation Department.
- 2 Pre-cleaners (Buhler).
