The 17th European Film Cycle of Maputo, organised by the EU and coordinated by the Spanish Embassy in Mozambique, will open on May 3 at the Franco-Mozambican Center.

The 17th European Film Cycle is an anual event that aims to bring the best of contemporary European films to Mozambique. This year, 12 European films produced in recent years will be shown. They also have a parallel program with Documentaries, Workshops, debates and children’s films.

This is one of the most important cultural events in Mozambique and has a great acceptance and an international audience.

This year there will be a grand opening ceremony with a free admission concert offered by the Embassy of Spain in Maputo in the gardens of the Hotel Polana Serena. Cordoba’s violinist, Paco Montalvo, with the show “Alma del violín flamenco” will be playing on Tuesday, May 2, at 8:00 p.m. Paco Montalvo is considered one of the best violinists in the world and the best flamenco violinist. He has been acclaimed at the Carnegie Hall in New York accompanied by the New England Symphonic Orchestra.

Gandaria has an important presence in Mozambique and is eager to collaborate in the promotion of Córdoba and its culture, through Paco Montalvo’s violin art.
