Romanian TV program”Lumea Satelor TV” wanted to be convinced of this and went to Cordoba, Spanish City where the headquarters of the company are located, to interview its founder, Juan Lopez Lietor and his wife.
In the interview they shared their professional experiences and Juan Lopez told us that the company was founded in 1975 by himself, who previously worked in the livestock sector, in a company that closed and he lost his job. After the business has to close down, he decided to visit a couple of farmers he knew that needed livestock equipment.
Silos Cordoba became a family business where Juan Lopez Lietor works with his wife and children. The company has grown and now exports to 40 countries and counts on a young team of 200 employees – 100 of them work in the group and the rest are outsourced.
Business success was due to work, eagerness and also realizing that money is not all that matters, but the way we work and the fact that money has been continuously reinvested in technology and business development. This philosophy is now followed by the general manager of the company, who is the son of the couple.
His first contact with Romania was in 2004 when Gandaria had to make several silo facilities in Hungary (35 plants of 20,000 T) and sent a delegation from Spain to visit the facilities and the Eastern European countries.
As in any field, the couple believes that work, sustained effort, participation, information on new technologies and modernization are the most important assets when you’re young and you want to start a business.
