The ceremony, held by the magazine Andalucía Económica, was attended by the Minister of Economy, Antonio Ramirez de Arellano, and the mayor of Cordoba, Isabel Ambrosio.
Andalucia Economica magazine presented the 5th edition of the ‘Ranking of Top Exporters in Andalusia’ on June 24. An event that took place in Cordoba and was sponsored by Cesce in collaboration with Silos Cordoba and Cordoba’s Science and Technology Park Rabanales 21, which hosted the meeting.
The event had the support and participation of major government representatives: the Minister of Economy and Knowledge of the Government of Andalusia, Antonio Ramirez de Arellano; the mayor of Cordoba, Isabel Ambrosio; the rector of the University of Córdoba, José Carlos Gómez Villamandos; the CEO of Andalucia Economica magazine, Alfonso Castilla; the president off Rabanales 21, Manuel Pineda; Cesce territorial director Alvaro Portes; and the director of the magazine, Alfredo Chavarri.
All speakers agreed on the importance of exporting as one of the main values of Andalusia and Cordoba numerous companies, mainly during these years of crisis. Among the data provided by the Ranking they noted that Andalusian exports grew by 83% within the last 5 years, generating a turnover of 26.512 million euros, a figure which places Andalusia as the third autonomous region in sales abroad, being leaders in food exports.
Gandaria among the top 100 leading exporters in Andalusia
According to the report ‘Ranking of Top Andalucian Exporters’ by the end of 2014 there were nearly 20,000 exporters in Andalusia. Many of them are from Cordoba, and eleven of them rank among the top ones: Cunext Copper, with a volume of 599 million euros in foreign sales ranks first, followed by Evooil7 (85 million), Meadow Quality Foods (81.1 million), ABB (61 million), Atcosa (49.84), Eurosemillas (45.40), Peninsular Brass (42.12 million), Antonio Cano e Hijos (36.8 million), Gandaria (35 million), Plastienvase (28.86 million) and Grupo Almendras Francisco Morales (25.75 million).
